Tamang Heritage Trek

Tamang heritage trekking trail is a relatively a new trail that takes you through unspoiled Tamang Village northeast of Syabru Besi. The highlight include the village of Gatlang, a closely-packed cluster of stone-built houses where time seeps to stand still, and the view point of Nagthali, commanding an extraordinary panorama of the high Himalayas. Though involving some steep climbs and descents, the trek is of moderate grade. It starts and ends at Syabru Besi, the trail first climbing to Gatlang, then dropping down to Chilime and up again to Tatopani, further up to Nagthali (the highest point), then a descent to Timure, a trip to Tibet border at Rasuwagadi, and return to Syabru via uphill path through Briddhim.

Tamang Heritage trek is an opportunity to discover the unexplored area of Langtang region, rural mountain village of Nepal with unique culture and lifestyle of Tamangs which is one of the major ethnic groups in Nepal. Our well designed Tamang Heritage Trekking itinerary designed with the beautiful villages and viewpoints from the previously restricted areas of Langtang Region. The craftsmanship, unique culture and customs, ancient Tibetan monasteries, beauty of rhododendron and bamboo forests, majestic waterfalls, snow-capped peaks from Langtang, Ganesh and Manaslu range, local fort, and exquisite local architecture of the Tamang homes are the major highlights of this trek.
